I'm Feeling Much Better!

I went to bed last night at 11:30pm, but was up at 3:04am, 5:35am, and 6:30am (I forgot to turn off the alarm from yesterday!).  I then woke up again at 8:30am, and woke up again at 9:15am, when my friend, Julie called.  I decided I had been in bed long enough, so I talked to her for a while.

Eric and I both had breakfast and then I started working on the computer, making phone calls, paying bills, etc.  I got a lot accomplished and then did my blog for yesterday.  I’m finally caught up!

I spoke to our friend, Jerry, who usually lives in Chicago, but is staying in Malibu for a month.  We're going up to Los Angeles on January 11th for the weekend and will see Jerry, my cousins (Ilene and Karen and their families), and also hope to see our other friends who live in L.A. -- Joe and Miguel.

Bicycle Warehouse

This afternoon I did FIVE loads of laundry (four at once, and then one after that).  We had accumulated a lot and Eric also unpacked a few bicycles (yeah!) and found some clothes that needed to be washed before he could wear them.  He’s still wants to move away from here, but seems more enthusiastic about riding, which is REALLY great.  He geared up in the afternoon and went for a ride to Pacific Beach to ride along the water and then to BICYCLE WAREHOUSE.

Bicycle Warehouse

I stayed in the apartment, folding five loads of clothes, linens and towels and putting them all away.  I did some sewing for Eric (his bicycle pants were ripped).  Then I watched TV and relaxed.  I am in BIG trouble when we get back from South Carolina, because the temp agency will start calling me and I’ll have to go to bed early (boo hoo!), and wake up early (yikes!) to go to work (uh oh!).  I’ve gotten VERY lazy, since I haven’t worked for 8 months and was on vacation for 3 months!

I’ll be happy to start working again, but I know the getting up early part is going to hurt – real bad!

I did a lot of work on my project – typing for about 2 hours.  Eric got back from his ride around 6:00pm.  He was out for almost four hours.  He did about 12 miles, including a stop at the bicycle shop.  He said he enjoyed himself, and he felt good about getting out there and riding.  Sounds good to me, too!

I made us dinner – a salad and some macaroni and cheese for me; leftover chicken and macaroni and cheese for Eric.  When I make chicken for Eric, there are usually 5 or 6 cutlets and, since I don’t eat chicken, there’s always a lot left over, which makes it easy for me to add it to salads, wraps, or just reheat and serve with a side dish.

We finished up the giant fortune cookie Ilene and Kyle sent (which was SO good) and ate more of the butter cookies Susan and Andrew sent.  I also had a piece of the dark chocolate from Geri and Larry.  How it melts in your mouth!  It is VERY hard to get back on my diet while all this great stuff is floating around the house.

Meanwhile, Jimmy has gotten me hooked on Peach Citrus FRESCA.  It’s SO delicious – with no caffeine and no calories!  So refreshing!

I continued typing after dinner while Eric and I watched FAMILY GUY and then DIRTY JOBS with MIKE ROWE.  I love that guy!  He’s funny, adventurous and doesn’t mind getting REALLY dirty!

I typed about 20 pages and then Eric and I retired to the bedroom to watch BOSTON LEGAL.  That’s a great show!

Tomorrow I am going to go out (for the first time in two days) to run some errands, including some food shopping, and buying some travel-sized toiletries.  I don’t want to have my things confiscated by security at the airport!
