I did get everything I wanted to do accomplished today. I woke up pretty early – about 8:30am, even though I stayed up watching TV until after 1:00am. Eric got up soon after, because his boss called, asking him to work today. Eric knew I had plans to run around all day with the car, and had a 5:00pm appointment for more acupuncture, so he told his boss he couldn’t work today. I listened as he spoke to him for about 15 minutes. He says all the right things. He expressed his frustration at the hours, the lack of work, and said he was thinking of looking for another job.
Meanwhile, he has to be at work at 5:00am tomorrow, so he’s working tomorrow. I left the house around 11:00am and my first stop was KEILS for food shopping. I came home and Eric brought up the packages and put everything away for me, because I had a noon appointment for my pedicure. It was 11:30am, so I went to the 99 cent store (no mirrors) then to CIRCUIT CITY and the guy showed me how to use the camera and set the date/time for me.
Next, I had my pedicure, which I find SO relaxing, and left with beautiful red toenails! After that, I went to TJ MAXX and BIG LOTS looking for small mirrors to do a custom jewelry mosaic in all pink, which Gili requested. She has a customer who wants all pink, so I’m on the job!
My last stop before heading home was STARBUCKS, where I treated myself to a grande mocha light Frappaccino. They use the sugar free syrup and fat free milk, but there are still more calories than a Skinny Mocha Latte. I just needed something special and it hit the spot! I weighed in at 127.4 this morning, which I figure is the gelato talking! I’m hoping tomorrow I’m back down to 127!
After I got home I kept going – I made us a NUTRISYSTEM lunch entrée and a small salad. Then Eric and I went down to the laundry room and we started three loads. Then, I went back to put some in the dryer and bring the rest back up for Eric to hang on his makeshift clothes line.
Then, I started sorting my jewelry, trying to find pink pieces. I was a little disappointed, because I didn’t find as much as I had hoped.
At 4:30pm I left for the acupuncturist, which is also very relaxing. We talked a lot and I told him the situation with Eric. He was very sympathetic, but said he’s been in San Diego for four years (from Chicago) and has adjusted to it, but still doesn’t love it here. He actually says that he thinks a change in seasons is better for your body (but don’t tell Eric!!!!). He feels that people in San Diego are a little light in the head, because they get too much sun! Isn’t that funny?
When I got home I made dinner for Eric and me and then proceeded to make my vegetable soup. I use slightly different ingredients each time. This time I used a red onion, mushrooms, celery, baby carrots, cilantro, a can of black beans, two cans of stewed tomatoes, a can of organic mixed vegetables, some shelled edamame, and two containers of organic vegetable broth. After it was done I added some fat free half and half and then pureed some of the vegetables to make it even more creamy.
I had a bowl without the half and half, but Eric said he likes it a little creamier, so I added it for him.
Then, I washed all the dishes, cleaned up the kitchen, made my lunch and Eric’s lunch for tomorrow, and then sat down at the computer to blog. I guess I really got a lot accomplished today, wouldn’t you say?
I told Eric that the new plan is to visit North Carolina together as soon as my temp job ends. Then, I told him, if we both like it, we will start planning to move as soon as possible. So, he says, “There’s no rush.” I said, “What do you mean, there’s no rush? You’re not doing very well are you? I’m worried that you won’t last until November!” So he said, “I’m just saying that there’s no big rush and I can wait.”
I guess I should be happy that he’s not pressuring me and that’s a positive sign. Nevertheless, he has okay days, bad days and very bad days, so I’m not anxious to stay another six months if I can help it.
The only thing I really dread is doing everything we just did ALL OVER AGAIN. We didn’t even get our California Driver’s Licenses yet. I just changed our address and had our mail forwarded for the second time in 6 months. I changed our address on all our computer accounts – credit cards, ebay, paypal, amazon.com, etc., etc., etc.
Then there’s the packing. Oh, the packing. I guess it will be a lot easier this time, since we’re only living in a small 2-bedroom and we didn’t even unpack a lot of our boxes, but I did buy a lot of new stuff. The folding table and 4 chairs, the headboard, the bed (which weighs A TON), the couch, the desk chair, the chest/coffee table, the AB LOUNGE ULTRA. We’ve managed to buy a lot of new stuff in just 3 months and now we have to ship most, if not all of it. I guess we could try to sell the couch and the table/chairs, since they’re nothing fabulous and the couch would definitely be expensive to ship, because it’s heavy, but the thought of putting everything I’ve unpacked back in boxes is overwhelming.
I guess I could just pay more and let the movers pack everything. But I’m so practical and I hate to waste the money. Anyway, I did it before and I can do it again. I just have to think of Navy and Army families, who can move every single year. If they can do it, I can do it!
Well, tomorrow should be nice and relaxing, compared to all I did today! I just have to try to get to bed early and get a good night’s sleep. My biggest fear is that I won’t be able to fall back to sleep tomorrow morning when Eric gets up at 3:30am!!!! I hate lying in bed from 3:30am to 5:50am, when my alarm goes off.
The good thing is that this is a short week, so it’s already just four days until the weekend! Wheeeeeeeeee!
