Crafting, Crafting, Crafting!

I woke up at 8:00am this morning.  As soon as I woke up, I started thinking about how much I had to do, so I got out of bed and decided the first thing I had to do was work on my CRAFTS BLOG.  I had a LOT of new projects and I wanted to get them all up on the blog and also talk about the two shows coming up.  I worked for TWO hours.  I was just about done, and I had been saving my work all along, because I know how things can go wrong.

As I was finishing and saved my work for the last time, when it was done I went to look at the blog and there was just one picture.  I had loaded at least 20-30 pictures and they were gone!  I freaked.  Eric was still sleeping, so I didn’t want to wake him, but I was actually sitting here saying, “Oh, no.  Oh, no.  Oh, no.”  I couldn’t imagine doing what I had just done for TWO hours ALL OVER AGAIN!

I decided to go all the way out and then go back to the website and go back into the entry.  I saw that there were TWO new entries.  Don’t ask me how, but somehow I must have clicked on “create new entry” because there was an entry with the one picture, and then the other entry with everything else.  I was SO relieved!  If you’d like to see all my latest creations, which I will try to sell this weekend, click here: CRAFTS BLOG.

Eric woke up a little after 10:00am.  We had cereal and watched an episode of MONK.  Then, he went into the shower and geared up for a ride.  I got to work on some decoupaged frames.

I had found three square wooden frames in a thrift shop in SOUTH PARK for $1 each.  They are about 10” square and have a very wide flat frame and a small square mirror in the center.  I decided that I would do a specific theme for all three, so if someone liked all three they could purchase them together and use them to make an arrangement on a wall.

I looked at the subject matter of all my cuttings and considered an Asian theme, leopard or stained glass, but I settled on a “maps and travel” theme.  I decided that it would be nice to have something a guy might be interested in, considering 99% of my product is definitely for the diva!

I did the first frame with lots of globes, world maps and antique-looking maps.  For the second, I used maps of the USA and also reproductions of classic vintage state postcards, which were actually made into postage stamps a few years ago.  Remember?  I always loved those and had copies of those stamps.

After I completed the second frame I decided to go food shopping before starting on the third.  I jumped in the shower, got dressed and was out the door in a half hour.  I did my food shopping, came back, unpacked the groceries, and then decided to do a load of laundry.  As I was coming back I saw Eric returning from his ride.

I started on the third frame and made that one more about specific places – New York, London, Paris, Havana, Monte Carlo, etc.  They all came out great and are different, but with a specific theme that ties them together.  Eric is going to varnish them for me this week.

I had one more project I wanted to complete today, and I really had the time, but I was exhausted, so I’m hoping to get it done this week.  I have about 30 pieces to sell over the weekend.  I’m only bringing about 12 pieces with me on Saturday, because my table will be smaller and the price point is lower, so I’m not bringing the higher-end items.

If I sell all of them (which would be nice), I’ll still have almost 20 pieces for Sunday.  If not, I’ll have more for Sunday, which would be great, because I can charge more for my items at that show.

Eric and I had NUTRISYSTEM entrées for dinner and then we had WEIGHT WATCHERS ice cream for dessert.  Oh, I forgot to mention – my bad eating over the last couple of days has really shown on the scale.  I weighed 127.2 this morning.  I had BETTER get my act together, because I was down to almost 124 and now I’m up three pounds!  Bad Peppy!  Bad, bad Peppy!

Tomorrow I have the acupuncturist after work.  I’m only going two more times, because Eric’s benefits will be done and I’m going away after that anyway, so I told the guy that I would not be coming back after that and he understood.  I think it’s helped me somewhat, but not enough for me to pay out-of-pocket.

So, I have to really work hard the rest of the week every night, so I can be ready for the weekend.  I still have to print out my price tags and tag everything, finish my tablecloth, and gather all the materials I’m going to need for the shows.  The CRAFT MAFIA gave us a list of things to bring, which is so helpful, so I’m going to use that to pack a box, so I won’t be without anything at the show.

I’m really looking forward to the shows, I’m just not looking forward to all the work it’s going to take to get there!
