Getting Ready for the Craft Show!

I forgot to show you a picture I took with my cell phone the other day, when I went to get my seller’s permit.  Since I was in a government building, there was a lovely picture of our governor (or should I say the governator) Arnold Schwarzenegger.  I almost had to laugh, because it just struck me as so funny.

So, I really didn’t have anyplace to go today until I received an email from the CRAFT MAFIA saying that we could pick up flyers today at 2:30pm at a STARBUCKS in the Hazard Center.  Isn’t that a weird name for a place to shop?  It’s also the same place where the Latino Film Festival is being held at the Ultrastar Cinemas, and John Leguizamo and Cheech Marin are set to appear!

Latino Film Festival

So, this morning, before I left to go pick up the flyers, I watched TV and just did stuff around the apartment with Eric.  We watched an episode of MONK from season two, which is one of my favorites.  Monk has to act in a play in order to try to figure out who murdered an actor.  Amy Sederis guest stars as his assistant’s sister, and Betty Buckley played their mother.  It was so funny!

We both spoke to our friend, Larry, whose birthday is tomorrow, and I spoke to Geri for a long time, too.  Unfortunately, they were having a bad thunderstorm in NYC and they lost their power!

I jumped in the shower and then my friend Susan called and we spoke for a while, too.  Then, I finally got out of the house just in time to drive to the mall to meet the girls and get the flyers and posters.  It’s weird, because most of the malls here are really just shopping centers.  They’re all outdoors.  It’s not like the big buildings in NY where you can go from store to store and never go outside.  Here you just go from shop to shop but you are walking outside as you do it.

I got the flyers, which are really professional and beautiful.  I was so impressed.  They’re made to look like an old-fashioned WANTED poster and they came out great!  I got a bunch and then left to run more errands.

First, I went to HILLCREST, because I had a few pairs of screw-on and clip-on earrings that I thought might be worth selling.  I figured if I could sell them and get a credit, I could buy myself something pretty!  I went to FLASHBACKS and I only sold 2 pair, but I got $13.50 and ended up getting a fabulous vintage purple Asian jacket with the frog closings.  It fits perfectly, but it’s much too long for me, so I am going to have it shortened to above the knee and then have the extra fabric made into a purse!  I love it!

Next, I went to a card store, because I wanted to buy my Mom a birthday card.  Her birthday is March 14th!

When I got back to Clairemont I did our food shopping and then got home just as Eric was coming back from a ride.  He helped me with all the bundles and I put everything away and made us a late lunch.  I knew it was a big mistake, because Eric decided we had just eaten at 5:30pm and it was dumb to go out and have sushi, so we stayed home AGAIN.  I mean it, he’s really getting away with murder!

We watched another episode of MONK and then we both came out to the living room.  Eric watched a special about John Lennon with old video and interviews, pictures and music.  I just listened, while I worked on a few projects.

I finally finished and I’m exhausted from working for almost 4 hours without stopping!  Tomorrow I have some yucky tax work to finish (adding up all my expenses for the year) and then I can play some more and make more stuff to sell at the craft fair.  After seeing the girls today, I am more inspired than ever!

If you'd like to see the full line-up of more than 60 vendors who will be selling at the CRAFT FAIR on Sunday, March 30th, just click on this link (and you'll see the picture that they choose to go with MY link!):  http://sandiegonorthparkcraftmafia.com/SpringLineUp/SLUVendors.html
