Instead of going to work this morning, Eric drove me downtown to the California Board of Equalization, so I could get my Temporary Seller’s Permit. We got there at 7:40am and I waited until 8:00am when they opened. I was the first one there. They took my name and then I waited 20 minutes until I got in the door. I told the guy that I had to be at work by 9:00am, so he REALLY rushed and I was so grateful. He gave me the “spiel” and I was out of there by 8:50am with my permit! Relatively painless!
Eric then drove me to work and I got to my desk by 9:15am. I actually had some work to do, so I was pretty busy all day and my boss came in at around 2:00pm and gave me more work, so the afternoon flew by. Before you know it, it was 5:00pm and Eric picked me up to take me to get my acupuncture treatment.
He really stuck me a lot today. He gave me needles in my foot that he called a “through and through” where they put one needle in very deep on one side and then meet it with another needle from the other side. I have to admit it didn’t hurt at all going in, but I could REALLY feel it coming out. It seemed like he had hit the exact nerve that is irritated or inflamed and I really felt it. As soon as the needle was out the pain was gone.
He also put them in my hands, the top of my head, and my legs. He’s a great guy and I really enjoy the sessions, for the most part. It’s relatively painless, very relaxing, and I just feel good every time I leave. I feel like it makes my foot feel better, but the results are short-lived. He says through continued treatment we can extend the “feel good” period, so that it lasts longer and longer. I guess that’s all you can ask, right?
When we got home I made us both a big salad. Eric had an entrée, too, and I just had a bowl of my soup. I also made a salad for myself for work tomorrow and put some soup in a container to take to work, too, so I’ll be having soup and salad for work tomorrow, too. Since I don’t eat the NUTRISYSTEM meals religiously three times a day, I have a lot left over and Eric and I are getting our third delivery, so we’ll have TONS of this food. We figure it will be good to have some when we cross the country (either in the RV or the car – we haven’t figured it all out yet), so we don’t have to eat out as much and don’t gain all the weight back!
I watched DR. PHIL and then THE BIGGEST LOSER: COUPLES, and then Eric joined me and we watched AMERICAN IDOL. I like the guys SO much better than the girls. Of the 8 guys there are 6 that we really like. Of the 8 girls there are about 3 that we really like, the rest are okay or we don’t like them at all. The talent lies in the guys this season!
Tomorrow and Friday should be really busy, because my boss has a meeting tomorrow afternoon, one on Monday and two on Tuesday and I have to get presentations and other handouts ready for all of them. I’m almost finished with THE STOLEN CHILD. It’s a really strange book, but I am involved and can’t wait to see how it’s going to end. I’m sure I’ll get to finish tomorrow afternoon, when my boss is in his big meeting.
Today this young guy had his baby at work. He looks so young that I didn’t even know he was married or had a baby, but the baby is six months old and he was SO SO SO SO SO SO cute that I wanted to eat him up. I didn’t get to hold him, because one of the other girls was hogging him and since I hardly know the guy I felt too shy to grab his son and smother him with kisses. He was the happiest, chubbiest, sweetest, cutest boy. Oy! I love babies! I told him if he ever needed a babysitter I was available!
I wish there was someone in the complex here with a baby. I would offer to babysit and make some extra money and get to hug and squeeze a little one. It would be so much fun!
So, I got something great accomplished today, getting my seller’s permit. Now, if I can just find all the paperwork I need to get my taxes done, and send them off to our accountant in Flushing, I would have the weight of the world off my shoulders. I HATE this time of year – really I do!
Before I close, I have to say HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY to my beautiful niece, Jessica!
