I’ll never understand how the scale can fluctuate two pounds on two days. I know that it can fluctuate from morning to night, but usually if you weigh yourself every single morning it will be close to the same. So, yesterday morning I was 127.2 and this morning I was 125.4. I ate my regular NUTRISYSTEM meals yesterday, but I didn’t exercise or anything. So, how did it go down almost 2 pounds in one day? I’m stymied! Anyway, I’m happy, too. I’m going back in the right direction!
I forgot to mention how hot it was yesterday in the apartment. We have no air conditioning and it was really warm out – almost 90 degrees! They said on the news that it was a record for the day in March! We had the bathroom and bedroom windows wide open and the front door open, to get some cross ventilation. We also put the ceiling fan on in the dining room. Still, it was hot and stuffy in the apartment. I was schvitzing while I was decoupaging!
So, this morning it was definitely cooler, in fact Eric got up at around 5:00am to turn on the heat, so I wouldn’t be cold when I got up to go to work. Isn’t he the sweetest? It kind of reminds me of mountain weather -- where it's cold in the morning, warms up a lot during the day, and then gets cold again when the sun goes down.
So, work was great today. My boss was in and kept me pretty busy today, which really made the day fly by. I also got to work on my “special project” which I am definitely going to finish this week.
I also started my newest book, THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES. I only read about 40 pages, but I’m already engrossed. Isn’t reading the BEST? I was so tempted to bring the book home, but – like I said – I have too much to do and would be distracted by the book and would want to read and do nothing else!
When I got home from work I just changed and went back out to Hillcrest for my acupuncture appointment. It was, as usual, a completely pleasant experience. Carl said he’s coming to my craft show on Saturday, because he likes the THE WHISTLE STOP BAR and will have a beer! He asked if I sell anything for guys, and I mentioned my latest – the series of three mirrors with map and travel themes, but I told him 99% of my work is purely for the diva!
After my session I ran across the street to get gelato for my darling. I got our usual – espresso bean and chocolate hazelnut – and went home. I had prepared dinner last night and all Eric had to do was put it in the oven. I made Ahi Tuna with asparagus and mushrooms. I used a wasabi mayonnaise on the tuna. He preheated the oven and put the asparagus and mushrooms in and then put the tuna in when I got home. It was delish!

After dinner I worked on my tablecloth for the CRAFT SHOW on Sunday. I sewed color blow-up pictures of my business card all along the bottom with a whip stitch, so it forms a colorful, fun border. It came out great, and adds length to the tablecloth, which I needed. It will also attract the eye. I just need to bedazzle a little more and I’ll be set! The show on Sunday is going to be held at a Masonic Hall on Utah Street in North Park. It's a beautiful, old Art Deco building. I've never been there, but I'm excited to see it in person!
After I finished the red satin tablecloth, Eric and I had gelato and watched DANCING WITH THE STARS. It’s so cute that he enjoys watching that with me. I just love it. We watch that and AMERICAN IDOL together. When HELL’S KITCHEN starts, we’ll watch that one, too.
Eric varnished my three “map and travel” mirrors and the Victorian File Box. They look SO gorgeous! Tomorrow I have a silver metal pail that I want to decoupage and that will probably be all I can get done before the show. I still have a lot of other things to get finished before Saturday.
Today all the girls at work were asking me about the show this weekend. They are being very supportive and excited for me, and I think a lot of them may come. It will be so great to get to show another side of me – the creative, fun side!
