Taxes, Taxes, Taxes!

Have I mentioned how much I HATE this time of year?  How getting everything ready for the accountant makes me neurotic?  How having them prepared – yes, I don’t even do them myself – makes me lose sleep?  I never felt this way until I opened the shop.  Then, it became MUCH more complicated and there was a lot of work for me to do.  This is (hopefully) the last year it will be this complicated, although if we move again I can’t see it being much less complicated with tax returns filed in TWO states.

Anyway, my ride couldn’t pick me up this morning, but I let Eric sleep in and took the car myself.  He didn’t think he’d need the car anyway, and I had my acupuncture appointment after work anyway, so it made life a lot less complicated.

A Million Little PiecesI didn’t do much at work today – the boss was in San Francisco – but I did read about 100 pages of A MILLION LITTLE PIECES by James Frey.  I know it’s not all true, but it’s still very hard-hitting.

I handed out the postcards for the SAN DIEGO NORTH PARK CRAFT MAFIA SPRING LINE-UP CRAFT FAIR (that’s a mouthful!).  Everyone was very enthusiastic and I’m hoping some of them will actually show up!

I put up an 8-1/2 x 11 poster in the cafeteria and left some postcards in strategic locations, plus I gave them out to anyone I thought would like that kind of thing.

After work I went to the acupuncturist and gave him a flyer, too!  He’s so sweet and I think he’ll actually come.  He said he likes that kind of thing!

When I got home I made a small salad for each of us and then baked salmon for me and lemon sole for Eric with asparagus.  It came out great and all I did was drizzle a little olive oil on the pan before putting the fish down and a little balsamic vinegar on top.  I put some bread crumbs on Eric’s fish, because he likes that, and added some MRS. DASH no-salt spices.

After dinner I watched some TV, then finished a project I had started last night.  I’ll be photographing everything and posting it to my crafts blog by the end of the week.

Wanted Poster

Eric said he felt like ice cream, so he went to KEILS to get some dessert.  I thought he’d bring home frozen yogurt or low-fat ice cream like I always do, but – no – he brought home HAAGEN DAZS Chocolate and Peanut Butter – my favorite – full of fat and sugar and CALORIES.  The scale was already up this morning from yesterday – and I don’t understand that AT ALL.  I was SO good this weekend.  I was 124.5 on Sunday and 125.8 this morning.  As Karen on WILL & GRACE used to say, “Huh? Wha? Heh?”  I don’t get it.  We’ll see what tomorrow brings – after a VERY small serving of the “good stuff.”

Meanwhile, my big box of NUTRISYSTEM food arrived today – our last delivery – so it’s not like we didn’t have any of THEIR desserts left.  And it’s not like they’re bad – because they’re not.  It’s just that we’re getting very lazy about the diet after 11 weeks.  Bad Eric and Peppy!

EloiseWhen I was done working on my project, I watched GIRLICIOUS, which never disappoints.  Then Eric watched the news (SPITZER!) while I blogged.  I’m going to bed now to watch MEDIUM, another show I just love.  Did you know the oldest daughter on that show was ELOISE in the made-for-TV-then-to-DVD movies with Julie Andrews as NANNY?

I played ELOISE in one of my cabaret shows and Dick Gallagher sang a song and I had cute, witty dialogue as Eloise in-between his lines.  The song was written by Kay Thompson, who created the character of Eloise and wrote the books, too.  If you’d like to see more about ELOISE and read the lyrics to the song, click here: http://www.eloisewebsite.com/eloise_song.htm

Well, as Eloise says (in the song), “I’m feeling rather tired, tired, tired.”  So, goodnight, dear friends!
