The good news is it was MUCH cooler today – just in the mid-60s, so it was almost 30 degrees cooler than last week. It felt SO much better!
My boss was in a meeting from 8:30am – 11:30am. Then, he went out to lunch at noon and, when he came back, he spent the rest of the afternoon in his office with the door closed. So, saying I didn’t have much to do today is an understatement.
I read 150 pages of VIOLETS ARE BLUE by James Patterson. It’s actually pretty good and I saw some of the movies they made of his books and know the character, Alex Cross, so I got into it very quickly.
I can’t believe April is over already. Time really does fly. I notice this because the weekends come so fast! The days just fly by and we’ve been here for six months already!
We got the electric bill and I am happy to report that our bill for gas and electric is $37.41. Can you beat that? The highest it ever was (in the winter when we were using the heat at night) was around $80, so it’s definitely manageable, even at its highest. Since we don’t have a land line, our only bills are cable, gas and electric, our cell phones, and my wireless internet, which is $60 a month. I can’t imagine paying less for electricity anywhere in the country, so everyone that says living in San Diego is so expensive just doesn’t know what they’re talking about!
So, I finally weighed myself today after a week. I’m up to 126.4, which is 3 pounds heavier than I was a few weeks ago. I have to admit I haven’t been cheating in the sense that I’m not eating candy bars or big bowls of spaghetti, but I have been more lenient with the amount of food I’m eating and I haven’t been having much NUTRISYSTEM food lately. I’ve been eating lots of salads and fish, but I also bought Eric nuts at the winery (3 different varieties and they were SO good) and I had some, too.
I need to get back in the game and start concentrating on my meal plans again. I always have a NUTRISYSTEM breakfast, but I’ve been eating salads without having a Nutrisystem entrée for lunch, and then we’ll have a NUTRISYSTEM entrée for dinner a few times a week, but also just have a salad, or fish and asparagus, etc. We’ve also been having ice cream – the good stuff – but when I went food shopping on Saturday I bought low-fat, low-sugar fudge pops, which are allowed in the diet. So, we’ll be eating that for dessert from now on, or fresh fruit, which I always keep around.
This tennis elbow is really bothering me and I’m going to make an appointment to see a doctor, but I don’t know what good it will really do. They recommend icing it and taking Advil, and I’ve done that, but I guess I have to just continue and hope it feels better. I know I can’t do yoga right now, because it REALLY hurts, and it’s so frustrating, because I was absolutely ready to start again when I got back from NC, but now I’m in too much pain. It’s always something, isn’t it?
Well, I must close now, because I have to go see who was eliminated on AMERICAN IDOL. You know how I love my reality TV!
