Last night we all went into our own beds at 11:30pm. Eric wanted to watch LENO and I love Monday nights, because he has HEADLINES, which are so funny. Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep my eyes open! I slept like a log and we all slept late. Eric and I didn’t get out of bed until 10:00am! My parents were already up and eating breakfast. We brought out our NUTRISYSTEM granola and they gave us some fruit and chocolate soy milk to have with our cereal.
Here's Papa! He'll be 80 in June and I think he looks fantastic! He still bowls once a week and plays tennis three times a week. I wanted to take a picture of my mother, too, but she begged me not to, and since I hate to have my picture taken, I respected her wishes!

After breakfast we all sat around and talked, then we watched THE VIEW. It was an entire show of HOT TOPICS, which they usually just have in the first 10 minutes. That’s my favorite part of the show, so it was really great. They talked about everything from politics to Dancing With The Stars.
At noon I jumped in the shower and got dressed so my Mom could take me for a manicure/pedicure, which I really needed. While I was getting pampered, Eric was doing a tune-up on my Dad's bicycle. Eric said the best thing to do with that bike is put a chain on it and use it as an anchor, but my Dad insists it's good enough for him, so Eric tried to fix it up as best he could with limited resources. My Dad was thrilled!
My Mom took me to a nail salon right near the house and she sat and kept me company. I tried to convince her to do it, too, but she says her hands are in water all day long, so her manicures never last.
Here are some beautiful yellow roses that grow right outside the door of my parents' apartment. My Dad loves his garden and cultivates lots of beautiful flowers. He always had a green thumb!
When we were done, we went to PUBLIX – the local supermarket – for a few salad fixings and then went home to make lunch. My parents often go to a great Italian restaurant called FRATELLI’S and my Dad always takes home a pizza and puts it in the freezer, so he has a slice whenever he feels like it.
My Mom made us a delicious salad and we each had a slice of pizza. After that, my Dad read his newspaper (something he does every single day – from cover to cover), I watched DR. PHIL and Eric read his book. My mom took a nap and we all soon followed! My Dad woke up at 5:00pm to go bowling, and Eric and Mom woke up soon after and talked in the living room. I didn’t wake up until 6:00pm.
I showed my Mom some pictures of our house on Leggett Place. Cynthia had sent me so many pictures of all the renovations they did and I showed some to my Dad last night. He told my Mom she had to see, so I showed them to her. They were really impressed with all the changes and improvements they made. The house really looks perfect now!
For dinner my Mom made a delicious vegetable soup with all fresh veggies, more salad and eggplant parmigiana, which they buy frozen at BJ's. Eric and I used to occasionally buy that in NY and it's really delicious!
Here's the view out the livingroom window of my parents' place. The pink flowers seem to be peeking in the window!
After dinner we just relaxed and watch AMERICAN IDOL, HELL’S KITCHEN and BOSTON LEGAL. Eric was reading his book in-between, even during commercials. He’s hooked on this book called HEART-SHAPED BOX. It’s some kind of ghost story.
My parents would run around with us, taking us to shows, movies, or wherever we wanted to go, but I always prefer to just relax and hang around when I’m here. I hate making them run around. Also, my Dad was going bowling tonight, so in order for us to use the car he'd have to arrange a ride with someone, so I didn't want to bother him to do that.
I know they’re more comfortable just entertaining us at home and we don’t mind at all. It’s not like we’re big social butterflies at home, or always running and doing. I really enjoy just being at home, talking, making meals together, watching TV, and taking naps! I’m sure we’ll do a lot more running around when we get to NC, so I’m taking full advantage right now!
