I woke up at 9:00am and got busy on the computer posting my blog from yesterday, because I was unable to access the website last night. It was just one of those things – it wouldn’t let me on! I watched TV out here, reserved the shuttle to pick us up at 4:30am (I know, an ungodly hour!) had NUTRISYSTEM oatmeal for breakfast and watched some AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.
At 10:30am I woke Eric up. He still has a stiff neck and a little bit of a headache, but he was definitely better than the last few days. We had a long talk. We talked about going to North Carolina and what our expectations are, what we’re hoping to find there, what we want to achieve while we’re there. Eric knows how important this trip is. We have a lot riding on it. I’m just glad we’ll get to relax a few days with my parents, before we head there. I really miss my Mom a lot.
I pulled together all the outfits I wanted to pack, I’m just bringing a few pairs of earrings and one bracelet, 2 pair of shoes (plus the pair I’m wearing) and just one purse. I'm bringing a lot of comfy clothes -- a few pairs of pants, one skirt and one dress. I'm also bringing a bunch of NUTRISYSTEM breakfasts and snacks, so we can try to eat sensibly at least part of the time. I’m REALLY afraid I can gain a lot of weight in just one week and waste all the NUTRISYSTEM food I’ve eaten over the past 12 weeks!
Unfortunately, I’m already in “vacation mode.” I had packed everything, cleaned everything, got everything ready in the apartment, paid all the bills, etc. I was watching TV in the bedroom, because Eric was watching a basketball game out here, and I was BORED! I kept coming out to the living room and Eric kept saying, “What’s the matter!” I didn’t really know, until I said, “I’ve got ants in my pants!” I felt very hyper (more than usual) and wanted to DO something. I was all ready for the trip, and couldn’t sit still!
It was a gorgeous day (as usual), so Eric said, “Jump in the shower and I’ll take you out to dinner.” I was happy he wanted to do ANYTHING, since he pretty much hasn’t left the house in the last 3 days, so I jumped in the shower, got dressed and we left the house at 6:00pm and headed for HILLCREST.
We went to TASTE OF THAI a restaurant we had tried when we first got here months ago. They have delicious food. The place was packed – we were lucky to get a table! I had scallops with cabbage and spinach in a peanut sauce and Eric had duck with vegetables in a sweet and spicy sauce. Their sauces are really great!
We stopped for gelato on the way home and brought it back to the apartment. I’m sure the scale will tell the whole story tomorrow!
When we got home we had our gelato and then watched TV. I really want to try to get to bed early, because it’s not going to be ANY fun at ALL getting up at 3:30am, getting picked up at 4:30am, and taking off at 6:30am. My next blog entry will be from Delray Beach, Florida!
