Wow! It was hot in San Diego today – around 90 degrees! It was pleasant outside, but it gets hot in the apartment, so I had the bedroom and bathroom windows wide open and the front door, too – with the ceiling fan going. It helps, but it’s still hot!
Eric got up at 7:00am this morning and went to the glass place on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, about 5 miles from the apartment. He came back around 9:00am and said they were ordering the glass and would call him to come back when it came in. He came home, went back to sleep, and I called Audrey to tell her I couldn’t take her to the winery today. I had left a message on her cell, but she never got it.
We made plans to go out tomorrow, so I’ll still get to see her! I decided to run all my errands today, so I started by doing three loads of laundry. Eric carries the load down for me, and I get it all started. Then, I go down and throw everything from the machines into the dryer. I take most of it out for a few minutes, after the wrinkles are steamed out, and Eric carries it all back up for me. I leave all the linens and towels in the dryer to dry all the way and then Eric went back and picked it all up for me and I folded it and put it all away. My elbow is really bothering me a lot, so I’ve been taking Advil to reduce inflammation and I iced it this afternoon.
Eric knows that lifting anything heavy hurts a lot, so he’s been doing all the “heavy lifting.” When the laundry was done I cleaned up around the apartment and then I went food shopping. I walked over to KEILS.
As I was walking through the parking lot, I saw an old lady struggling to get a case of bottled water off the bottom of the cart. She finally got it on the ground and then the cart started to roll away and she chased after it. While she was busy doing that, I picked up the case and put it in her trunk for her. I could have kept walking, but I didn’t want to freak her out, so I called to her and told her I did it and then took the cart from her, since I needed one anyway. She was very grateful and I felt like I did my good deed for the day!
Eric picked me up with the car when I was done and put the bundles in the trunk and carried them back to the house. I put everything away and we had a snack. I had purchased some sushi and we each had 3 pieces of a Spicy California roll. It was actually really good!
I wanted to go to the post office to mail the key frame to Susan, but I just couldn’t get my act together early enough this morning and the post office closes at noon. Sorry Susan! Eric said he would mail it for me on Monday!
For dinner I made us each MORNINGSTAR FARMS Chik Patties with cheddwar cheese on top and NUTRISYSTEM soups. We weren’t that hungry, since we had the “sushi snack,” so it was enough. We had a decadent dessert – Eric had bought HAGEN DAZS peanut butter and chocolate ice cream – my absolute favorite – and we had tiny gelato cups at 9:30pm.
There was really nothing great on TV, so I watched some TOP CHEF (my new favorite reality TV show) and some AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL. There are always episodes from past seasons that I haven’t seen. I absolutely love that show. It’s so disappointing that the last two weeks SNL has been repeats – repeats of very recent episodes! Tonight’s is Chris Walken, who is one of my favorite hosts, but I just watched it a few weeks ago!
I’m glad that I will get to go out tomorrow with Audrey. I really was looking forward to our day out and now we’ll get to do it after all! All’s well that ends well!
