It wasn’t easy to get up this morning, but I did it! I drove to the office, since I was leaving early to go to the interview at 3:00pm. It was nice to see everyone, and I was pleasantly surprised by the nice welcome back I got from everyone. My boss wasn't in today, and didn't call in, which was great!
I had a lot of emails to read through, and my boss left me a list of things to do. All the documents they use for proposals are updated quarterly and when I first arrived we were doing all the documents as of 12/31/7. Now, they’re doing all the documents as of 3/31/8, so it’s “that time again.” I spent the day finding the documents on the network, printing them out and filing them, so they’re available when he needs them. I also need to replace certain slides in PowerPoint presentations with other updated slides. It is easy work and kept me busy all morning.
One of the people I work for (not my boss) told me he wanted to take me to lunch today with another woman I work for. I had brought my lunch, but I figured I could eat it tomorrow, so we went to a Mexican restaurant that’s right next door to the office (the only thing besides the hotel around here – except more office buildings!). They were so nice and asked me lots of questions about my shop, my previous life at PwC and my recent trip to NC. I had told Bob that we are thinking about moving there and he knew that’s why we made the trip.
When we got back, I just had about an hour and a half before I left for the day. I worked on expense reports and then left at 2:00pm. Every day should be this fast! It’s the first time in 10 weeks I went out to lunch (and they treated!!) and I left early, so I only worked 5 hours today!
I went to my interview and it went very well. I’m not sure I want the job, but I decided I’m not going to worry about it until I find out if THEY want ME!
I got home earlier than I thought, so I came in and changed my clothes before heading out again to get my hair cut and colored. John always does a wonderful job and he’s a funny guy (who talks a LOT), so it’s always interesting. He’s traveled a LOT, and he’s had many careers. He should write a book, because he’s had a great life!
I went to the gelato shop, since it’s on the way home, and Eric really enjoys it. I got his favorite – Chocolate Hazelnut, and a new one for us – Pistachio. I had a taste and it’s FABULOUS. I’m not that much of a pistachio fan, but this is the real thing!
When I got home I made us MORNINGSTAR faux chicken cutlets and my veggie soup for dinner – totally vegetarian!
After dinner, we watched DANCING WITH THE STARS and then I watched MEDIUM. I went to bed at 10:30pm last night, trying to get a good night’s sleep, but I didn’t fall asleep until after 11:30pm. I just kept tossing and turning. My elbow is still really hurting and my sister, Lenae, thinks it might be bursitis or tennis elbow! I’ve never played tennis in my life, but apparently that doesn’t matter!
My boss was out today, but he’ll be back tomorrow and I expect it will be a busy day. The good news – at least the day will go by quickly! By the way, I didn’t get to read a word of my new book yet!
