We both slept late again today. My Dad was off playing tennis by 8:00am and my Mom was up, had breakfast and was reading when I emerged from the bedroom at 10:30am. Eric was still sleeping. I know he didn’t sleep well last night, because I heard him tossing and turning and I know his back is really bothering him.
When he got up he and I had breakfast – we ate some of my Dad’s high-fiber cereal with some pear and chocolate soy milk. Then, he went out to work on my Dad’s bicycle again. He told my Dad that he could make it ride MUCH better if he could go to a bicycle shop and buy a part, so my Dad took him for a ride. Eric just wants my Dad to have as easy a ride as possible.
While they went to get the parts, my Mom took a nap. I think she was up early and she wasn’t feeling well today, so I just watched TV in the bedroom and worked on the computer, answering emails.
Mom was very shy this trip, choosing not to be in any pictures, but she sure can take a great shot!
When they got back, Eric fixed the bike for Dad and then we had a lunch of salad and gefilte fish! Yum! Then Eric read his book and I took a nap for about 45 minutes. We left the house at 4:30pm, got to Sunrise about 5:15pm, stopped at STARBUCKS and then went to Ellen’s. We hung out with Rich and Ellen for a while and then drove them to THE OUTBACK to meet up with everybody else. My nephew, Scott, was there with his wife, Jaime, their children, Kyle (5) and Rian (1), and their friend, Adam. Michelle came with her boyfriend, Justin, whom we met for the first time. He was SO handsome, sweet and such a gentleman. He and Eric really hit it off, because he rides a motorcycle and is in construction (he’s a project manager), so of course they had a lot to talk about.
My gorgeous niece, Michelle, and her handsome boyfriend, Justin. Aren't they the cutest couple?
We ordered lots of appetizers – mushrooms, a bloomin’ onion, and wings, and I had tilapia with asparagus for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their food, but I ate much too much. Then, after we were all stuffed, they brought out a delicious cake, which Jaime had brought. It was our brother-in-law, Rich’s birthday, and Justin’s, and Adam’s – all in the last week! The cake was decadently delicious – chocolate and white cake with chocolate icing. Yummy! I brought home a big piece for my parents, which they will enjoy tomorrow after we leave!
Scott, Jaime and Kyle. He's full of personality that little guy!
Eric's sister, Ellen and her husband, Rich -- one of the three birthday boys!

We dropped of Ellen and Rich and stood outside their house talking for a long while. They are so sweet and were all so appreciative that we drove down to see them. They were all going to drive up to see us, but when my parents said they didn’t feel well enough to go out to dinner with us we decided to drive down to them, which made it MUCH easier for all of them, since they have to go to work tomorrow! We get along so great with Ellen and Rich and always have a lot of fun with them. It’s too bad we’re always so far away. If we are lucky enough to fall in love with North Carolina it will be great to be only a hop, skip and a jump from Florida!

Here's Rian, elegantly drinking through a straw. Delicious!

How big is Rian? SO big! (This is the one-armed version!)

It's too bad the eyes all came out red on these blue-eyed beauties. Kyle looks SO handsome!

Here are the three birthday boys (plus Kyle!) with their delicious cake!
We were home by 10:30pm, filled up the tank for my Dad, and came home. Eric jumped in the shower and I showed my Mom all the pictures I took and then started blogging. Tomorrow we will get up at 7:30am, my Dad will drive us to the airport at 8:30am and our flight takes off at 10:40am. I hope we have as smooth a trip as we did getting here!
