Either someone’s got it in for us, or we’re having REALLY bad luck lately! A few weeks ago our car was vandalized at night – someone broke the passenger side window. Nothing else was done, and nothing was stolen, but it was still $150 and a big pain.
This morning I was at work and Eric called a little after 8:00am. I was just about to dig into my NUTRISYSTEM cereal with soy milk. Eric told me the car was vandalized again. This time, someone threw some kind of gooey, gluey, smelly stuff all over the car, and then wrote nasty things in it. The first time, I really believe someone was trying to steal the car and failed, because we had the club on.
This time, they were just being evil. Eric is paranoid and believes it’s someone we know. I know we don’t have any friends here, but we don’t have any enemies either, so why would they? The only people who know our car might be a few of our neighbors, and we haven’t done anything to antagonize them, so why would they do that?
I think maybe the people who wanted to steal our car came back and saw the car again (it DOES stand out, because how many lavender PT Cruisers do you see?) and decided to just do something again. Anyway, Eric washed the car, it all came off, and he went about his business.
I was upset the whole morning and didn’t even eat my cereal, because HE was so upset that I then got upset and completely lost my appetite (which hardly EVER happens), but then he called me afterwards and said it all cleaned up and he wasn’t going to let it upset him.
THAT’S a new Eric! A few weeks ago, he would have talked about this incessantly, but I guess he saw that no permanent damage was done and he’s just going to hope it doesn’t happen again. My theory is – 1x and it’s a fluke; 2x and it’s a coincidence; 3x and we’ve definitely made an enemy. So, we’ll see what happens. I’ll keep you informed!
My boss was in today, but gave me virtually nothing to do, except asking me to buy something for him on ebay this afternoon! He saw that I was shopping on ebay (looking for a gift – nothing for myself!) and he told me he was having trouble with his account. He believes someone has accessed his information and is using it to sell stuff. Until he resolves it, he can’t log in and so I went on and bought a book for him. I was happy to do it, and he gave me a check right away.
I read 90 pages of the CLIVE BARKER book Eric gave me to read. It’s not thrilling, but it’s definitely holding my interest. Eric went to the library today and got me another DICK FRANCIS, so as soon as this is finished (tomorrow?), I’ll start another DF!
Eric also went to COSTCO this afternoon and got a lot of great stuff we needed, like tall kitchen garbage bags, Listerine, edamame (they have a box with 12 individually packed servings!), FUZE drinks for me, bottled water for him, soy milk, avocados, and healthy cereal. I really think you save a LOT of money at these kind of stores (we went to BJs in NY), even though you pay a membership fee. I think you save the $50 in 2-3 visits and the rest of the year you’re just ahead of the game!
He bought a package of pre-made sushi and we had it for dinner. Delicious! I also made Eric a salad (and made my salad for lunch tomorrow) and I made a piece of salmon for myself (some of which I put in my salad for tomorrow!). I had a WEIGHT WATCHERS frozen dessert and Eric had a HEALTHY CHOICE frozen dessert while we watched DANCING WITH THE STARS.
I’ve been having all kinds of problems with my DVR in the bedroom, so TIME WARNER CABLE is coming tomorrow to give me a new box. It’s been a big pain, and I’ve been losing shows I recorded, and you know how I love my TV!! I told Eric I’m going to sue them for pain and suffering!
I went online after DANCING WITH THE STARS and voted for MARISSA JARET WINOKUR five times. She is the most improved and is really adorable and I think she needs the votes the most. I really hope she makes it to the finals. I’d like to see the two girls go head to head, but I’m pretty sure it will be Kristi Yamaguchi and Jason Taylor.
Before I say goodnight (and go watch the season finale of MEDIUM), I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUSAN! I hope it was fabulous!
