The cable guy came at 7:40am this morning – right on schedule. Eric let him in and I stayed in bed and slept. He gave Eric a new cable box, and when he left Eric came back to bed.
At 9:30am our little drummer boy across the way started practicing. The funny thing about him is he only plays for 5 minutes – never much more than that. So, it’s enough to wake you, but if you’re determined to go back to sleep (as we were this morning) you can.
I slept on and off until about 11:00am. We got up and Eric made us a fabulous breakfast of egg whites (in a container) with mushrooms and cheese, a slice of whole wheat bread, and some cubed mango and honeydew. It was fantastic -- a great way to start the day.
It rained all night last night, and I didn’t expect it to be a very nice day, but it turned out to be lovely – about 65 degrees with the sun shining and a nice breeze. I wanted to go out and do something, but Eric really wasn’t very enthusiastic. He had a basketball game starting at 5:30pm and wanted to be home for that. I compromised by saying we’d go to the movies and see INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL and then we’d be home on time, I’d make him dinner, and we’d have at least done SOMETHING.

He agreed and we went to a 3:10pm showing at the nearby movie theatre on Clairemont Drive. It’s just 3 miles away. There are 14 stadium-style theatres, with really comfy seats. There were a lot of people at the theatre today. I guess it wasn’t really a beach day (too cool). I really enjoyed the film. Jimmy said if we liked the other 3 INDIANA JONES movies we’d like this one, too, and he was right. It was just pure fun and adventure. I love HARRISON FORD, he’s one of my favorite actors. I also like SHIA LaBEOUF and it was great to see KAREN ALLEN again, too!
I can't remember the last movie Eric and I saw in a theatre. We only go to the movies about once a year. It's just not a favorite pasttime of ours!
After the movie I went to STARBUCKS and then we came home. I immediately started 2 loads of laundry and did some organizing while Eric watched the game. I cleaned up the dining room area, putting all my decorative tins (which are filled with craft items) back on the shelves in the bedroom, and made room in the lower cabinets in the kitchen for all the non-decorative craft stuff. The room looks a lot better now, and since I’m not planning to do any big craft jobs in the near future, I don’t really need all that hanging around anyway!
I worked on my firm’s Quarterly Letter and finished editing it. I’m hoping that it will be okay when I email it back to myself and open it in my updated version of WORD. It looks a LOT different on the screen AND when I printed it out to proofread it. It’s weird, but the printout was much smaller and off center, instead of filling the page like it did at work. I don’t quite understand it all and I’m hoping I didn’t waste an hour this afternoon (before we went to the movies) making all the changes. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll just have to do it all over again on Tuesday morning.
There was really nothing to interest me on TV tonight (Saturdays are notoriously boring TV nights), so I watched some stuff I had previously recorded (SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE and LAST COMIC STANDING) and did more stuff around the apartment.
Eric and I made a vegetarian dinner with three varieties of MORNINGSTAR veggie items and some fresh steamed broccoli.
I will probably go food shopping at some point tomorrow, but we have no other plans and Eric has another game on at 5:30pm tomorrow afternoon, too. Just my luck! He says if we go someplace and don’t get home in time I could record the game for him, but he never ends up watching games I record. He really prefers to watch them live, and I hate to have him miss it, because I know they mean a lot to him. So, we’ll either do something that gets us home by 5:30pm, or I’ll just do something on my own!
