I woke up this morning to Little Drummer Boy, but he wasn’t drumming. It sounded like he had a giant wind chime and was playing with it with another little friend. I could hear them laughing and talking outside. It finally stopped and I fell back to sleep. I got up to go to the bathroom and, again, went back to sleep. I heard Eric get up and go to the bathroom and come back to sleep. We both, obviously, needed a lot of sleep!
By the time we both got up, it was noon. I know, how decadent! I immediately started working on my blog, since I was too tired to do it last night when we got in at midnight.
Eric watched TV and saw that THE DOORS movie was coming on at 1:00pm. We watched it together while I blogged. It took me almost two hours, because I had to download the pictures, resize them, then write the blog, then cut and paste it to the website, and then upload all the pictures. It’s always a process, but when I have lots of photos it takes twice as long (at least).
Eric wanted me to go for a ride on our bicycles, but I had to go food shopping and knew I wouldn’t want to go AFTER a ride, and we didn’t have time BEFORE a ride, because he wanted to be back at 6:00pm to watch the basketball game. We decided that HE would go for a local ride and I would go food shopping.
So, after the movie we both took showers and went on our separate ways. I was back from food shopping pretty quickly. I didn’t have to buy much, since we had gone to COSTCO on Friday night and purchased a lot of stuff. When I came back I unloaded the groceries and then started cleaning. I noticed that my vanity was dusty, so I took everything off, dusted it all and then dusted the vanity and cleaned the triple mirror and put everything back.

Once I got started, I decided to do the same with our glass-topped night tables and just about every other surface in the bedroom. While I was doing this, I watched SHE’S GOT THE LOOK. It’s a new reality show modeling competition hosted by Kim Alexis and all the contestants are over 35. It was okay, so far. Beverly Johnson was one of the judges and she’s gorgeous. Some of these women look like they had modeled when they were younger and had never made it. Others were just gorgeous women who thought they their time had come and gone and were excited for another shot. The oldest is 63 and she’s fabulous!
Eric got home a little after 6:00pm. I was watching THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS. I thought they’d be funny, but it was more stupid than anything else. The only thing I liked was when Adam Sandler got some kind of lifetime achievement award and sang THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, but he changed all the words to the song, so that it was about how great he was, including “Sandman, you’re the best,” instead of “Baby, you’re the best.” It was really funny and he did a great job with lots of girls dancing around in gold bikinis. I love him, even though some of his movies are so stupid I’ve never even watched them. I loved him on SNL and THE WEDDING SINGER is one of my “Can’t Not Watch” movies.
One of my favorite pieces of Betty Boop ceramics, which sits on my vanity and holds jewelry!

At 7:30pm I made us “the big salad.” I had lots of great stuff in there, so it makes a whole meal. I made enough for my lunch tomorrow, too. I discovered one mistake I made – I bought parsley, instead of cilantro! It’s funny, because I ALWAYS smell the cilantro, to see if it’s fresh and fragrant, but this time I was kind of in a hurry, and it looked great, so I just threw it in a bag. Unfortunately, it was parsley, but it went into the salad before I noticed. Eric didn't like it much.
After dinner I watched YOURS MINE & OURS – the new version with Dennis Quaid. As much as I love him in the remake of THE PARENT TRAP, this one just didn’t do it for me.

So, I'm thinking of cutting my hair. I saw this picture of Clara Bow and thought her hair was as blonde and curly as mine. I'd love to try this shorter length, I just don't know if I can pull it off. I'd be happier if I lost 10 pounds first, because I feel like my face is too fat (and I have a double chin), but I'm getting really sick of my hair. I need a change. I just don't know if I have the guts! I'd love some opinions -- honest opinions!
This was a great weekend. We had a wonderful day and evening in Los Angeles with our friends and family and a nice, relaxing Sunday at home. A great weekend, in all!
