I woke up again last night at about 2:30am. I don’t know what this new trend is, but I don’t like it one bit. At least this time I fell right back to sleep and slept until the alarm went off!
I did a bit of cleaning this morning before I left, because my complex was informed that they would be coming into our apartments today to change light fixtures (if needed), replace regular light bulbs with energy-saving bulbs, change out the piece at the very tip of the faucet in the kitchen and bathroom, and replace the shower head. I was a little nervous, because all I could think of was that SEINFELD episode where they get the low-flow shower heads and all their hair is flat and greasy-looking.
Fortunately, I already tried the shower out for a second and it feels like it will be fine. I’ll see for sure tomorrow morning! They were going to change light fixtures in older apartments, but since ours was turned over in 2007, we already have all new light fixtures and a newer refrigerator.
I had a pretty calm day at work – both upstairs and down. It was busy, but not too stressful. We ordered in from Tio Leo’s for lunch and I walked over with a bunch of the girls (it’s across the street) to pick it all up. I had a cheese quesadilla. Their food is really good.
I spoke to the woman in HR who is in charge of the department I’m working in upstairs. I asked her when I’m coming down to HR full time and she said she didn’t know, but she’s working on it. The sooner the better for me!
I spoke to Eric a few times today. He was at another job in Manhattan. The first building he worked at (Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday) was on 61st and 1st. Now, he’s working on 87th on the East side. He likes this job better, because he knows his partner – it’s someone he used to work with and they’re friends. I thought that was great.
He’s working on getting a car and he hopes to have one by the weekend. That will really make life easier for him and his sister, because right now she’s chauffeuring him around a lot. He had to go to an OSHA class today (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) after work in Long Island City at the union hall. I asked Eric how it was and he said, “Bogus!” Anyway, it’s a requirement. His sister picks him up and drops him off a lot of places, and he feels so bad bothering her.
Anyway, I left at 5:00pm and got a call from Eric as soon as I finished heating up my soup (which was even better the second time!). Then, I relaxed and worked on the computer until DANCING WITH THE STARS came on. I felt bad when Ted McGinley was eliminated, especially since he’s SO much better than Cloris Leachman (and she’s a bit obnoxious, too).
After DWTS I watched AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL. I just LOVE that show. There’s so much good TV on these days and since I can only record two shows at a time, I end up missing some shows I’d like to check out – like THE MENTALIST and GARY UNMARRIED. I’m such a couch potato. I just love my TV shows, and there are so many to choose from. Reality, drama, comedy. It’s all there to enjoy!
