Busy, Busy, Busy!

Isn’t the first day back after a long weekend always a killer?  Today was no exception!  It wasn’t stressful, because there wasn’t a big project with a deadline, but there was just SO much work, because we were out of the office for 3½ days.  I had SO many emails to go through in the morning and a few projects to work on.

I tried out my coffee-for-one this morning, which my darling friend, Peppy, sent me.  It came out great!  I was impressed by how easy it was and what a great cup of coffee I had!  I had purchased STARBUCKS decaf at KEIL'S (what else) and it worked just great!  I'm set now!

When I got down to HR there were over 70 resumes that needed to be printed and processed.  As I got through more and more, they kept coming in.  I processed over 50 and still had a lot left when I left at 5:00pm.

I’m still working through lunch, even though they told me I have to take ½ hour.  I’ve just got too much to do!  Some of the girls in HR brought in magazines, so I’d have something to do while I take my ½ hour (which I’m not taking), so we all started bringing in magazines once we’ve read them.  One girl gets GLAMOUR.  I get COSMO, and MARTHA STEWART LIVING.  Another girl gets a lot of travel mags (which don’t interest me at all), but she also gets US and O (Oprah’s mag), which I love.  So, we’re all trading mags, but I just bring them home to read while I’m relaxing.  I just can’t take lunch unless I’m going somewhere and doing something.

I had an appointment at 6:00pm today to get my hair cut and colored and I was SO happy, because my roots were really long and it REALLY bothers me a lot when it gets this bad.  It always seems to happen overnight.  One day they don’t look bad at all, and the next day they’re HORRIBLE.  They turned horrible last Thursday and I tried to get an appointment over the weekend, but he wasn’t going to be in until today, so I had to wait.

Unfortunately, as I was driving to Hillcrest for my 6:00pm appointment, I listened to my messages and heard that my appointment was cancelled!  I called in and they said I could come tomorrow at 6:00pm.  So, now, I have to go through one more day looking like this!  It ain’t easy, I’ll tell you that!

Instead of getting my hair done, I had some chips and hummus, watched Dr. Phil and then took a nap.  Very productive!

When I woke up, Eric had dinner all ready – Mahi Mahi and a great salad.  Eric’s so cute, he says he doesn’t understand why, but my salads always taste better than his.  I think he’s right, and I don’t even know why, but I’ll never tell him!  I really appreciate when he cooks for me, because it’s so nice to relax when you get home after a long day at work.

After dinner we watched AMERICA’S GOT TALENT and then I cleaned out Conrad’s cage while Eric held him on his finger.  I really think he likes Eric better than me, but Eric says he “tolerates” him.  He seems perfectly happy to sit on Eric’s finger while I vacuum and wash out his whole cage, put fresh paper on the bottom, refill his water and food dishes and put it all back together again.

After that was done, we had WEIGHT WATCHER’S and HEALTHY CHOICE ice cream and fudge pops and watched more AMERICA’S GOT TALENT.  All the new shows start within the next couple of weeks, but right now there’s not much to watch on TV!

I’m not looking forward to walking around another day with these horrible roots showing in my hair, but I guess I have no choice (unless I wear a hat!).  Oh, well.  As Tim Gun says on PROJECT RUNWAY – Make it Work!
