Just Another Busy Day At Work!

It was so busy day at work today.  It was also a sad day.  My friend at work lost his sister.  She’s been ill for about a year and she passed yesterday.  It’s so sad.  He’s only 40 and his sister was only 46.  It makes you put things in perspective.  My troubles seem slight and unimportant when you think of someone losing a sibling.  I love my two sisters, Audrey and Lenae, so much and I can’t imagine my life without them.

Things were tense in the department, because everyone knew about his loss.  He left to go back East where his family lives and will be gone for a week.  So very sad.

I had a nice afternoon in HR.  SO busy – as usual – but it’s a good busy.  Eric picked me up at 4:45pm and we had our regular Thursday appointment.  All went well and I always feel better after our sessions.

We decided to go back to CITY WOK in MISSION HILLS for dinner.  We had been there with our friends, Marianne and Allan, and we really enjoyed the food.  We shared a big bowl of Hot & Sour Soup and then had a dish called Spicy Chile Shrimp and String Beans.  It was SO delicious.  The shrimp and string beans were stir fried with this spicy sauce that was different from anything I’ve ever tasted.  We had a lot left over (the portions are huge) and we’ll have it for dinner tomorrow night!

When we got home we worked on the RV situation.  We’re getting close to a resolution and I’ll let you all know when it’s a done deal!

We wanted to watch KITCHEN NIGHTMARES but the stupid Republican Convention was on and stupid McCain was speaking, so the show was delayed for ½ hour.   I just don’t have the patience for any of it.  My mother, on the other hand, told me she’s been watching every minute and was going to watch tonight, but she promised to remain a staunch democrat!  She better!

Tomorrow’s Friday already.  This week really did fly by.  We have no plans for the weekend, but that’s okay.  We have lots to do around the apartment.  Eric is packing his things to be shipped to NY.  Yes, he’s really going back.  It makes me so sad to think of him leaving again, but I know he’ll never be happy here and he thinks his chances are much better in NY.

We have to make the most of our time left together, because we won’t see each other again until I fly to NY at Thanksgiving for Jessica’s wedding.  It’s only two months, but it will seem like a lifetime, I’m sure.

In the meantime, I know all our NY friends will make the time to call or see Eric and let him know how much he’s loved.  He knows it, but I know seeing and hearing from his friends will mean a lot to him.

Eric and I have been through a lot this past year, but the love and support of our family and friends has kept us going, given us comfort and warmed our hearts.  For that we are eternally grateful!
