I didn’t go to sleep until 1:00am last night and I woke up around 8:30am. Eric called soon after and told me he was off today, too! He went to the bank and got a check to pay the security and first month’s rent on his new apartment! Yes, Eric is moving in this week to his own place in Whitestone. It’s a cute 2-bedroom on the first floor with lots of windows, beautiful wood floors in the living room, a big kitchen and two bedrooms. I’m excited for him, because I think this will be great for us, and I can’t wait to see it and stay with him when I’m in NY in November!
Meanwhile, I woke up this morning with a terrible pain in my neck and I know it’s from the yoga class the other night. When we were first starting out, we were sitting our mats and she had us lace our fingers and put them on the back of our heads and hang our heads and just let the weight of our arms pull our necks down. It was hurting me, but I thought it was because I was so tense and thought it was releasing the tension.
Well, I didn’t feel it that night, and I don’t remember it hurting yesterday (although I was so stressed and busy, who knows?), but it REALLY hurt this morning. As the day wore on it got worse and worse. I was fasting, but at 2:30pm I finally broke down and had a bowl of Cheerios, so I could take three Advil. They really helped. I then did three loads of laundry, and cleaned some more. I know you’re not supposed to do anything on this highest of holy days, but I couldn’t help it. I was in too much pain to just sit and I felt it best to keep busy. I had a lot on my mind, but I couldn’t seem to clear my head and stop my mind from racing.
I took a fast nap in the afternoon and then went to see my therapist. As usual, she was very helpful. She is happy that Eric will be moving into his own place and that he is doing so well at work. I know he is still missing me a lot (and I’m missing him just as much), but she and I both still believe he’s doing what he needs to do and what is best for both of us.
When I got home I made a big salad. I wasn’t breaking fast, but I did have a lot to think about today and I tried to make the day as meaningful as I could under these conditions.
Tonight I watched UGLY BETTY. It’s such a great show and I really enjoy all the characters. Betty has been wearing colorful ankle socks and high heels with her skirts and dresses and I’m wondering if this is a new look for fall. I’m not to excited about it, because I think it cuts you off at the ankle and makes your legs look shorter. Any other opinions out there?
The apartment looks great. I mean, it’s always clean, and I think it always looks great, but it’s truly spic-and-span!
I am excited to go to work tomorrow. I don’t have to train the temp, because she won’t be in tomorrow, so I get to spend 8 hours in HR – first time ever! Also, it’s FRIDAY – which is always a good day at work, AND Jimmy’s coming tomorrow night! So, I have a lot to look forward to. I just hope my neck feels better!
