After a wonderful weekend with Jimmy it was a little hard to get up for work this morning, even though I slept really well. I managed to hit STARBUCKS and get to work on time, which was great.
The other temp in HR and I had to take ID photos for 2 new employees this morning and somehow I managed to mess everything up. We got the pictures taken, but then one photo wasn’t saved and we had to have one of the guys come back down to take his picture again – not for his ID, which he already had, but for the firm’s online directory.
Then, the camera was out of focus, and we couldn’t figure out why, or how to fix it. We had to call tech support to come and fix it all – and they did it in 5 minutes – but I was so embarrassed. We have two more pictures to take tomorrow, so I hope it doesn’t happen again!
This afternoon I had to go up and train the new KRM temp from 1-4pm. She’s really sweet, but it’s hard going through everything again and again. She’s been taking notes and she typed up a document to help her through the steps, so that will be a big help. I think she’s having an even harder time than I had – which is hard to imagine – but I keep telling her I know this job is totally overwhelming and no one expects her to have it down for weeks – if not months.
Eric was off from work for Columbus Day (lucky boy!), so I spoke to him a few times. When I got home we talked and then I spoke to the realtor who got him his apartment. He’s getting the keys tomorrow and moving all his stuff on Wednesday (she has a friend who is a mover, so it was easy to arrange), but he doesn’t have a bed yet, so I doubt he’ll be sleeping there for at least a week. He’s supposed to get a sleeper sofa or futon, something that will serve as a couch if company comes, but where he (and I) can sleep comfortably at night.
I didn’t go food shopping over the weekend and I was feeling too lazy to go tonight, so I just had cereal for dinner. I also gained 2 pounds since last week (and I really don’t think Jimmy and I ate excessively!). Boo hoo. I just can’t lose weight. Really. Honestly. Okay, I know I haven’t done much in that regard, but can’t a girl catch a break?
Tonight I watched DANCING WITH THE STARS. If only they would put me on that show. I’d lose 20 pounds in 3 weeks! And it would be fun, too! That’s what I need. A dancing competition for amateurs and old people! I think I could kick Cloris Leachman’s butt!
Tomorrow night I’m going back to the yoga class, but you can be sure I won’t be pressing on my head anymore! I think the class was great, and it is definitely a start to me getting more active, so I want to go every Tuesday. At least I’ll get these old bones moving again!
