RV Saga -- Finally Over?

I woke up late and wanted to get to work early, so there was no way I could stop at Starbucks before work.  I DID get to go to the coffee cart, so I was pretty happy.  A lot of the girls were in early, so they saw me decorating their offices and cubicles with the owls and skeletons, and they really loved them.  Almost everyone commented and thanked me and really appreciated it, except for one girl.

No one really likes her, and it’s kind of sad, because I think she’s really nice and is probably just shy.  Maybe she feels left out a lot, because no one really includes her in anything.  I make a point of saying hello to her, and asking her how she is, etc., but I kind of understand why they treat her the way they do, because she never even mentioned or asked about who put the skeleton and owl on her door!

Anyway, it did Boo-tify the HR department a little and Halloween was the topic of the day.  Out of the 10 girls I work with, only 3 or 4 are dressing up this year.  HR is ALWAYS famous for their group costumes, picking a theme and each girl dressing accordingly.  Last year they were all super heroes.

Anyway, Elsa’s on sabbatical, as is the other woman I work with.  One of the other girls will be away that weekend, so she won’t be in on Friday.  Three of the other girls decided they won’t dress up, so that leaves 5 of us.  I said I’d dress up, if I could figure out a costume.  I don’t have much, because I sold, gave away, or threw away most of my costumes when we left NY.  The few things I have left don’t fit and I’m not going to spend money on a costume when I’m not even invited to a party, so if I can’t throw something together, I’ll just be one of the party poopers.

Today was a pretty easy day.  I wore my new black suede BCBG sling-back pumps and I’m happy to report they are SO comfortable!  I wore other shoes to walk from the parking lot to the office, because you can ruin the soles by walking far on cement, but I wore them most of the day around the office and they were great!

I got an email early in the morning from the escrow company saying the transaction was complete and the money had been transferred to our account.  I was SO happy.  I kept going online to our account every 20 minutes or so, and it wasn’t there.  I wrote her and she said it could take up to 24 hours, but probably wouldn’t.  By lunchtime the money was there.  Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!  I was SO happy.  It’s finally done.  He has the RV.  We have the money – and it only took three months!  I’m happy to report we’ve now got one less thing to worry about!

When I got out of work I went to MICHAEL’S.  I had a coupon for 40 percent off any one item, but I wandered around and couldn’t find anything I really needed, so I handed the coupon to a girl I saw shopping and just left.

Then, I went to KEIL’S to pick up a few things, including salmon for dinner.  I came home, spoke to Eric and then spoke to Andrew, who is helping me figure out what new laptop to purchase.  He has configured what I’ll need and I just need to order it.  It’s an HP laptop.  The thing is, tonight I saw this new commercial for the new, top-of-the-line HP “touch” computer, where you touch the screen – like the iphone.  Shouldn’t I have the newest, most up-to-date, top-of-the-line, high tech model they make?  Probably not.

I had my salmon and a salad (and made the same for lunch tomorrow) while I watched last night’s EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION.  I actually fell asleep REALLY early last night.  It wasn’t even 9:00pm and I was SO tired I turned off the TV and went to sleep.  Unfortunately, I awoke in the middle of the night and – as usual – just dozed and tossed and turned until the alarm went off.

After EXTREME MAKEOVER, I watched DANCING WITH THE STARS.  Everybody’s getting injured.  First, Susan Lucci hurt her ankle.  Then, Brooke Burke hurt her foot.  Now, Julianne Hough has endometriosis and has to have her appendix taken out.  (I really don’t understand what one has to do with the other, but that’s what she said!)  What a season of injuries and illness!  Michael Flatley – the lord of the dance – was guest judge tonight.  He really has aged gracefully.  What a handsome, elegant guy!

I keep wanting to do some decoupage projects I’ve got to do for my new client, but I can’t get started!  Once I do, there’s no stopping me, but getting started is the hard part for me.

I’m going to close now.  I’m going to go watch BOSTON LEGAL.  That’s one of my favorite shows and tonight I heard it’s their last season.  I guess all good things must come to an end, but this show is SO entertaining, touching, and hits on all the big topics in the news.  I love David Kelley’s point of view, his cast is exceptional, and the writing is fantastic.  They don’t come much better than BOSTON LEGAL!
