Back To Blogging!

Okay, so it’s really Tuesday night at around 11:25pm, but I haven’t blogged since Saturday so, officially, this is Sunday’s blog.

I can finally show pictures of the party favors/place cards, although I'm ruining the surprise for Geri and Larry, who were too sick to attend, and will get theirs when we see them next week!

Here are the pictures from the party!  I feel bad that there are some people I did not photograph, but it was a busy night!

The bride and groom, Jessica and Ken, and our friends Laurie and Keith.

Anyway, I believe I left off blogging on Sunday morning.  To continue: On Sunday, at around 3:00pm Eric and I finally got out of the apartment and over to Susan and Andrew’s, so we could give Andrew my old computer.  I got to get my first look at my new laptop.  It's really beautiful!  My old one is all black, but this one has a silver keyboard.  Very fancy!  I showed Andrew what I needed to be put on the new laptop, and we talked about what Eric would need (not much) on the old laptop, which I am going to leave with him in the hopes that he'll learn to use it and email me!  We stayed for a short while and then headed to Melville to visit with Kaja.

It was so great to see Kaja.  She will be 95 in January and she is sharp as a tack, full of life, and still so beautiful.  It was a joy to spend some time with her.  She is so grateful for everything and puts out such positive energy.  She is magical and mystical and wonderful and I love her so dearly.  I am going to try to get back out there by myself, before I leave NY, but I don’t know if I’ll manage.  It was a lovely few hours we spent with her.

After we left we were both starving, because we hadn’t eaten since breakfast (even though it was at noon).  It was now 8:00pm and we decided to go to our old favorite diner – the OMEGA in New Hyde Park on Lakeville Road.  I had a tuna sandwich and a bowl of chicken consommé (no chicken in it – just the broth) and Eric had a BLT.

Then, we went home and Eric got ready for work the next day.  I had trouble sleeping again, because of the banging outside.  We have no idea what it is, but it is definitely annoying.  I took SIMPLY SLEEP, and it does help, but it makes me sleep late and feel SO groggy in the morning.

Although I was exhausted, and I took the pills, I slept fitfully, because I would awaken from the noise of the radiator (banging and a really weird “breathing” sound) and the banging that goes on outside the apartment.

Eric hates this apartment and wants to find another ASAP, and I really can’t blame him, because the noises drive me crazy and I can’t imagine living here and dealing with that on a daily basis.  When I come back in the spring, it will be to much better living conditions!
