Doctor's Visits!

Eric went right to sleep last night and I have no idea how he got up the today, but he did and was out the door on time.  I slept until 10:00am!  I got dressed and ran some errands.  I had to go to my old dressmaker (she was SO happy to see me!) because the belt I wanted to wear with my outfit for the wedding needed to be fixed.  I also wanted to buy a tie for Eric, because I forgot his in SD and he needed one for the wedding.

Then, I went to Rite Aid (which used to be Eckert and before that was Genovese).  I needed a magnifying mirror.  I have one at home and didn’t bring it, because I didn’t think it was a big deal, but I’m so blind I can barely put on makeup without one!  I just kind of guess where my eyelashes are and swing the wand around and hope I get some mascara in the right place!  I bought a small 10x magnifying mirror.  It’s a little scary to see yourself that close up, but at least I can put my mascara on without poking myself in the eye!

Next, I drove to Forest Hills, because I had an appointment at the dentist for a cleaning and then a dermatologist appointment.  The two offices are about 10 blocks apart, so I parked about halfway inbetween.  First I went to the dentist and got my cleaning and then I hit the dermatologist and got some prescriptions.  I may be almost 51, but I’m still breaking out like an adolescent!

I was out of there by 5:00pm and headed to New Hyde Park to pick up my laptops from Andrew.  He did such a great job, and I am so appreciative of all his help.  He got both laptops set up perfectly – one for me, and one for Eric.  The new one is really luxurious compared to my old one, but I’m still using the old one now, because the new one doesn’t have internet yet!

I was supposed to go out to dinner with my nieces (including the bride), but they cancelled, because she said she had too much to do for the wedding), so instead I went out to dinner with my friend Kris, and Susan came along, too.  We went to Asian Moon, a great Thai place in Garden City.

First, we picked up Kris and got a tour of the house she’s renting.  It’s really amazing.  The people who own it put SO much money into it and I guess they figured now wasn’t the best time to sell, so they’re renting it until they do.  The kitchen itself must have cost $50,000.  It’s huge, with gorgeous tile floors and granite countertops, fabulous lighting fixtures, etc.  She’s got a finished basement and the whole top floor is a master bedroom suite.  It’s great!

Asian Moon was pretty crowded for a Tuesday night.  We ordered Shrimp Dumplings, Cold Sesame Noodles and Edamame and then I had Shrimp Pad Thai, Susan had sesame chicken and Kris had Moo shu Chicken.  Everything was tasty and delicately spiced and seasoned.  Delicious!  We had a great conversation and could have stayed for hours talking and laughing, but I wanted to get home while Eric was still up, so I could spend some time with him before he had to go to sleep.

When I got home at 10:30pm he was still up, but fading fast.  He fell asleep by 11:00pm and then I got on the computer and blogged.  I’m still catching up, but I should be back on track soon!
