Back To Yoga

I woke up at 9:00am and called my darling.  We spoke for a few minutes and then I started my day.  I had a lot of errands to run and wanted to get started early.

My first stop was the laundry room, where I started one load.  I then got in the car and went to the post office to mail a letter to Eric’s union.  I wanted to be sure I had enough postage on it, because there were a lot of enclosures.

Then, I went to the shopping center to pick up some millet for Conrad at PETCO.  If you don’t know what that is, it’s bunches of seed, still on the branch, and it’s like crack cocaine for birds.  They just go CRAZY for it.  I bought a big pack of 24 branches, so he’ll be happy for at least a month!

Then, I went to MICHAEL’S craft store, just to look around and see if anything caught my eye.  Nope.

Next stop was back to the apartment to put everything in the dryer for my “5 minute steam” and then hang it all on the line upstairs in the apartment.  Then, I went out again with my little old lady cart to KEIL’S to do a big food shopping.

I decided to make another big batch of soup, so I bought every vegetable I could think of, and then some.  I got a case of DIET LEMON SNAPPLE (score!), and more of my SPECIAL K CHOCOLATEY DELIGHT cereal, which is the best stuff in the world for breakfast with soy milk!

When I came back I did some work on the computer, watched a little TV and took a nap before yoga class.  I woke up at 6:30pm, drove to GINSENG YOGA in South Park and had a lovely class.  It was particularly serene there tonight.  She put a candle in front of every person’s mat and we had to meditate on the candle while we did our yoga practice.  It was very calming, and having something to stare at actually made it easier for me to concentrate.  I really enjoyed it!

When I got home, I had a six-piece sushi from KEIL’S (I had a $1 off coupon!) and a small salad.  Tomorrow I’m going to get going on my typing project, and make my soup.  Those are my goals for the day.  I won’t be going out at all, unless something comes up.  I really need to get going on the typing project, because if a job comes along I don’t want to be on the computer all day, and then again all night!  I also have a decoupage project, but I know she’s in no rush for it, so it can wait until the typing is complete.

I checked airline fares for a trip to NY.  I really wanted to surprise Eric and visit him for New Year’s Eve.  It’s hard to be apart for big nights like that, but the fares were so expensive (because it’s coming up so soon) and I worry about snowstorms, cancellations, etc.  I told Eric what I wanted to do and he said he would love it, but he doesn’t want me traveling during this time of the year, because it’s just too crazy.  I know he’s right, but it doesn’t stop me from wanting to do it.  I really, really miss him and I really, really want to be with him – if only for a few days.

I just can’t imagine really waiting until Spring to see him again.  I have to figure out when I can go and just keep my fingers crossed that there isn’t a snowstorm.  I hope this winter flies by – for everyone’s sake – and that spring is here before we know it.  My yoga instructor mentioned that the winter solstice had passed and that the days would now be getting longer.  That really made me happy, because even though it seems like the winter is looming ahead endlessly, we really have seen the shortest day and now the sun will be up just a little longer each day.  That’s a good thing!
