The first thing I did this morning, after I spoke to Eric, was call Susan to see how she was doing. She is in a lot of pain, but resting comfortably and of course her husband Andrew is taking good care of her. I had to NOT be funny, because she told me that laughing hurt a lot. It’s funny, but the harder you try not to be funny, the funnier you seem to be!
I finally finished my typing project today. Hooray! It felt like I was working on it for months, but it was really just about 3 weeks.
I got busy typing this morning, finished the job, emailed it to my friend, and then got dressed to go out. I wanted to get a flat on my bicycle fixed, so I can ride my bike. Eric took the wheel off before he left for NY in September and I just got the flat fixed today. Okay, so I’m not the most ambitious exerciser in the world!
I just figured that walking 3 miles to Starbucks was do-able, but I didn’t think I could make the 6 miles to and from the shopping center, but I knew I could easily ride it on my bicycle, because I already did it with Eric. It’s pretty flat all the way, so it’s a very easy ride.
The bicycle shop fixed the flat for $12. Eric told me to ask the guy to show me how to put the wheel back on and hook up the brake, and then he would talk me through it on the phone when I got home, which he did. Eric is a great teacher and even over the phone he was able to explain it all, so that I could figure it out and get everything put together.
The memory box I am making will feature ticket stubs, invitations, photos, maps, and other memorabilia, but the girl told me her décor is red/white/and black in the room where she will keep the box, so I wanted to find some interesting papers to use. I went to MICHAELS, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything. The good news is I DID find some great stuff going through all my decoupage cuttings when I got home. I have enough papers cut from magazines, catalogs, etc., to decoupage about 100 projects and still would have enough for more! I have them all divided into categories – Animals, Asian, Art, Butterflies, Cats & Dogs, Flowers, Maps and Travel, Movie Stars, Cosmetics and Perfume, etc., etc., etc.
After I had all my materials together, I put down my drop cloths, put on my apron, and started to work. I worked for about 2 hours and then had a bowl of SPECIAL K CHOCOLATEY DELIGHT for dinner while I watched UGLY BETTY. It was SO great tonight. It made me laugh out loud several times. I love that show. It’s funny, fashionable, and sweet – all at the same time! I had tears in my eyes at the end. If you watched, you know why! If you didn’t, there’s no need to explain!
I’m planning to go for a ride on my bicycle tomorrow. I hope I don’t poop out. I’m very good at planning things and then pooping out. I want to work on the box some more, and I’m having a sushi dinner with Elsa at HAIKU tomorrow night, but I should be able to fit in a fast bicycle ride in between. At least I hope I can!
