I heard from three friends I don’t talk to or hear from very often, which was a great thing. It was all very coincidental. They all just decided to call today. I was so happy to hear from each of them and it makes me realize that falling out of touch with someone does not mean that you don’t still love them, think about them, want the best for them, and need them in your life. Sometimes we just get lazy and don’t communicate as well as we should, even though it’s now easier than ever with texts, emails, cell phones, Facebook, My Space, etc.
I always say that there are friends I've known for twenty or thirty years. We may not talk for a year, but if I run into them, or they call, it's like we pick up right where we left off. It's just that easy. I'm not one of those people who keeps score of who called who last and who gets mad if I don't get a holiday card, or a phone call, or an email. Sometimes people apologize to me for not keeping in touch and I just say, "As long as you're happy and healthy, then I'm good." I know I'm not the best communicator. I'm definitely NOT a telephone talker. I would MUCH rather email someone at my convenience than have to sit and talk on the phone, but everyone's different!
Anyway, I had another bad allergy day today. It’s really starting to get me down. I mean, I can’t live on EMERGEN-C, DAYQUIL and NYQUIL for the rest of my life, can I? I was relieved to hear that Rosemary took a box of tissues with her to her spinning class the other day, because her allergies were so bad. I felt bad, but it was nice to know I’m not the only one. There must be something about San Diego winters!
So, because I wasn’t feeling well all morning I got a very late start to my day. I finally got out of the house at around 2:00pm. I needed to go to the post office, drug store, and of course Starbucks! I tried a new coffee today, which Rosemary highly recommended – an Espresso Truffle. Yummy-yum-yum! I DO have to stop these drinks, though, because they’re SO fattening! I’m trying to lose weight and most of the drinks I get are at least 300 calories, which is a LOT!
It was a gorgeous day – I was able to run all my errands in just a long-sleeved t-shirt. The sun felt great and made me feel a lot better.
I finally got a chance to upload the pictures of my latest creation (with the help of Katie, my web master) on my crafts blog. If you’d like to check out Marlene’s ‘80s Earring Mosaic Mirror, click here: www.peppysdream.com/craftsblog
I worked on my typing project for a while today. I’m happy to report that I will definitely finish it this week. I only have about 25 pages left. Wheee! That makes me VERY happy, because then I can get to my decoupage project!
