So, I’ve been working on my project pretty much non-stop for the past few days. Jimmy says I'm "DecouCrazy!" He's so clever! Anyway, it’s coming along fine, and I've pretty much resolved all the problems. The only thing I have left to decoupage is the bottom of the box. Then, I need to paint the ball feet black and attach them to the bottom, varnish the whole thing, then line the whole inside of the box with padding and black velvet, so it’s as lovely inside as out!
I didn’t do much else today, until 3:30pm I left the apartment to go to MICHAEL’s (third time this week) to buy black spray paint for the ball feet. Unfortunately they didn’t have high gloss, just satin, and I want high-gloss, since the finish on the box is going to be high-gloss.
Then, I met Rosemary for dinner at IMPERIAL MANDARIN on Convoy Street. We shared fried cream cheese and crabmeet wontons (amazing) and she had Kung Pao Chicken, while I had Kung Pao Shrimp.
Rosemary and I never run out of conversation, and we had a great time talking and laughing. When it was time to go, we walked outside and looked up at the moon. It was, indeed, even brighter than I remembered last night. You almost needed sunglasses to look at it!
I drove through STARBUCKS and pointed it out to the girl at the drive-through window. I told her to tell everyone inside to come look at the moon, because it was the biggest, fullest, brightest moon we’d see all year!
I pulled into a spot and called my parents in Florida. They said they noticed the moon when they went out at 6:00pm, but they went outside (it was almost 10:00pm in FL) and they couldn’t believe how bright it was. I said it was just amazing to me that it could be so bright in Florida AND in San Diego, but I guess I’m not very smart.
When I got home I called Eric and told him to look at the moon, but he said it was snowing hard and there were clouds all over. I told him the moon was SO bright that you would probably be able to see it through the clouds, but he said I was crazy and went back to watching his football game! He’s such a romantic!
After working on the computer for a while I was going to start working on the box again, but decided to wait until tomorrow. I was pretty exhausted and figured I’d just wash up, get in my pjs, put on my fluffy robe and watch TV. After all, it’s Saturday night! There was a MONK marathon on all day today and I DVR’d all of them, so I can pick and choose some to watch. There are some that I’ve only seen once – the first time they aired – and others that I love so much I can watch over and over.
I have absolutely no plans for tomorrow. I need to do a food shopping, and I need to go to COSTCO to get gas and I also have a $3.50 coupon for KLEENEX tissues and you know I’ve gone through about 5 boxes in the last few weeks, so I really need them!
