We had a pretty laid-back day. I woke up at 9:00am to call Eric, and then worked on the computer until Robin woke up at 10:00am. Then, we just hung around, had breakfast and talked.
I wanted to do laundry and go to the post office, but Robin wasn’t feeling well, so she stayed home. I washed her dirty clothes, too, and it was just two loads for both of us. I threw in the wash, drove through Starbucks, and then went to the post office to mail off some packages.
When I got back I put everything in the dryer for my “steam de-wrinkling” and then left the towels and linens in there and brought everything else up to hang on the line.
Then, I went back out to go to RITE-AID. I needed more DAYQUIL and NYQUIL and also bought ZYRTEC, since everybody is saying it’s the best allergy medicine, so I thought I’d try that, too!
When I got back I brought up the laundry and we both went inside to lie down. Robin fell asleep and I read GLAMOUR for a while and then took a nap, too.
When we woke up at around 4:00pm we were starving. We had a big salad and tuna on Wasa Crisps, which was really delicious. Then, we just hung around and talked some more. Robin and I never run out of conversation! We could talk for hours about experiences we shared, and then talk for hours filling each other in on events in our lives that happened while we were out of touch.
We’ve been friends for 33 years, but were sometimes out of touch for a couple of years at a time. It was just that we each had busy lives and sometimes time flies and you can’t believe you haven’t spoken for a year or two. The great thing about Robin is that the second we talk or see each other, it’s like we were together yesterday. We just fall right back into our friendship. I’m sure everyone has a friend like that. It’s so comfortable and easy.
Anyway, at 6:45pm we left to go to the movies. We were going to go dancing tonight, but since Robin wasn’t feeling that great, and we have a BIG day planned tomorrow (Ocean Beach!), we decided to just go to the movies and get to bed early, so we can get an early start tomorrow.
We saw CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC, which was really adorable. Gorgeous clothes, great cast, and a fun story. I recommend it highly!
When we got home we relaxed and had tea. Then, we got in our PJs and watched MONK. Robin likes that show, too!
This has been such a fabulous week and I can’t believe tomorrow is Robin’s last day here. She’s leaving very early on Sunday morning (7:30am), so we have to make tomorrow REALLY count!
