So, the insurance guy came this morning at 10:15am. He was actually 15 minutes early! I met him in the parking lot. What a cutie! He looked about 25, with curly, shoulder-length blonde hair that he kept tucking behind his ears.
He was very sweet and helpful and showed me all the damage. There was absolutely no damage to the front, but I told him that I barely tapped the girl I hit. He could see how hard the girl hit me from behind, because her license plate was imprinted in my bumper! I told him we were all moving at the time and he said that was VERY unusual. You’re telling ME!
He said that he was going to recommend that I have the entire bumper replaced, because it was cracked and dented in several places. After he wrote up his report and photographed the car, he left and I came back up to the apartment. I did some stuff around the apartment, watched some TV and then went to the post office to mail some packages.
When I was done I felt like staying outside, but I knew if I went shopping I’d just spend money, or frustrate myself by NOT spending money, and I didn’t feel like taking a walk or bicycle ride, so I just came back home. It was really gorgeous out today. The weather has finally gotten back to normal for this time of year. It was 65 degrees today. I had the front door open and the bedroom window open and there was the sweetest breeze coming through.
I just relaxed and didn’t do much. I am still feeling twinges in my neck and back, but everyone’s been informed and I haven’t signed off on anything, so don’t anybody worry about me. There’s absolutely no reason to go to the doctor. They’re not going to take x-rays or send me for an MRI when I’m not even in pain. I just still feel pretty stiff. I thank everyone for their concern, and appreciate the emails and calls I’ve received!
I spoke to Eric a few times. He has been riding his bicycle a lot because apparently the weather in NY has been great! I’m so happy to hear that!
I just hung around the apartment until it was time to go to my Thursday appointment. I stopped at STARBUCKS, had my appointment and came home again. In all, a pretty uneventful day. I’m kind of getting used to this easy-going lifestyle. Don’t know how I’ll handle “big city” life when I get back to New York! I’m getting to be quite the laid-back San Diegan – at least for the next eight weeks!
