Today Robin and I did a whole bunch of nothin’! First of all, we were both exhausted from all the running around we did yesterday. I don’t know about her, but that was a LOT of activity for me. I’m really not used to it!
Second of all, Robin has been fighting a cold and I think today it won! We both woke up when the alarm went off at 9:00am, but I was so exhausted and Robin wasn’t feeling well at all. I just called Eric and told him we needed to go back to sleep and I would talk to him later.
I took one NYQUIL, because my nose was so stuffed, and that caused me to sleep a little longer than Robin. She got up before me, had some frozen waffles for breakfast and was reading when I got up. I made the same breakfast and we hung out and talked for a while, looked at stuff on the computer, and I spoke to Eric again. Then, we went back to bed. I watched TV (with my headphones on, so I did disturb Robin) and she read her book.
We both ended up falling asleep and took a long nap. We woke up late in the afternoon and she made soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. It was so comforting.
I spoke to Eric again. He is starting at a new location tomorrow – all the way downtown – and he’s not very happy about it. I feel so bad, because this company seems to be giving him a hard time with who he works with and where he’s located. He’s trying so hard, but they just don’t appreciate him and they take advantage of him. I hope things get better for him soon, because I just want him to be happy and I know how important his work is to him.
My hip is better and I didn’t even have to take any Advils today, so I guess I’ll be alright to walk around the rest of the week.
Now, on to the weather. It was HORRIBLE out today. Today was definitely the WORST day I have seen in San Diego since I moved here 15 months ago! It was not only POURING off and on all day, but it was SO windy that the wind chimes outside my bedroom window were chiming like crazy, and when you looked out the window the palm trees were really bending in the wind. Crazy San Diego weather! That’s the main reason why we didn’t venture out at all. I would have at least wanted to go out to eat at some point!
My girlfriend, Rosemary, emailed and said she felt SO bad that Robin was here, because she said this weather is SO unusual for San Diego – not only because it rained so hard, got so cold and was so windy, but because it has been raining on and off for 4 days already! We’ve been so lucky, because the only time it was raining while we were outside was when we ran from CHILI’S to the car on Saturday when we went to see the movie. That’s it. Otherwise, it was either gorgeous out, or just not raining.
After we ate we watched FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL on pay-per-view. It was really a cute movie and we both enjoyed it. Then we read and watched TV some more.
Tomorrow we have plans to meet three of my girlfriends from work for lunch. I’m just hoping it’s not raining! If it’s a nice day, I’d like to take her to La Jolla after lunch to window shop, meet Gili, and go to all the art galleries in the neighborhood. That’s a lot of fun. Then, we have yoga tomorrow night, which we’re both really looking forward to.
So, today was all about resting, relaxing, rejuvenating and just enjoying each other’s company!
