We woke up at 9:00am, and I immediately called Eric. Then, we had breakfast and got ready to go to the zoo. First, we went to Citibank, so I could get some cash. Then, we stopped at Rite-Aid, so Robin could get more sinus medicine (she’s still not feeling great). Then, we drove through Starbucks, and then we headed to the Zoo!

We got a great spot, right near the entrance. It was a gorgeous day, sunny and mild. We had tickets that entitled us to a double-decker bus ride, and the bucket tram, but Robin and I were too afraid of heights to go on the tram, so we just walked around and then in the afternoon we took the bus tour.
These two were so cute -- holding hands!!!!

We got to see almost every single exhibit. The only thing I could think of that we missed were the polar bears. We did see other bears, but not the polar bears. We had great luck with the gorillas. Not only were they all out, and up, but they were moving around a lot, eating, interacting, and then came right up to the glass and were actually looking at us with interest. It was amazing! Robin got some great pictures!

We also loved the giraffes and the elephants, who are right across from each other. I love the elephants because, as big and bulky as they are, they are so graceful when they walk and they sometimes stand with one foot balanced behind the other, like they’re just relaxing. It’s SO cute!

The giraffes are so sweet. Their big black eyes look right into your soul, and they have those long eyelashes, along with their long, long necks, and long, long legs. They’re just such majestic and elegant creatures. I LOVE THEM!

We had a lucky experience with the pandas, too, because the mother and her baby (who is pretty big already) were eating and facing us and just sitting and munching away. They were so adorable! The koalas were pretty cute, too.
Toward the afternoon it started to get chilly, especially if we were in the shade, rather than the sun. We left at around 4:30pm and drove to South Park and walked around all the cute stores for awhile before heading to La Jolla to meet Rosemary for dinner at BJ’s at 5:30pm. Robin had soup and salad, and Rosemary and I had our usual – Spinach and Artichoke deep-dish pizza with a garden medley salad.

Robin and Rosemary really enjoyed each other and we had a lot to talk about. It was really fun, but Robin and I were exhausted from being outside and walking around all day long.
We headed home at around 8:00pm and got into bed to watch TV. Both of us fell asleep. Robin pretty much slept the whole night, but I got up to watch AMERICAN IDOL and then blog. I’m used to taking a nap and then getting my second wind!

We were going to go whale watching tomorrow, but Rosemary said she thought it was too cold and we agreed, since we were freezing this afternoon and we were on dry land! So, we’ll see how the weather is and decide what to do. We’ve got lots of options!
My roses are looking SO beautiful. They're all opening up and we are so enjoying them!

We had such a great day today. This week is really working out great for both of us. We’ve had so much fun together, and have had so many great adventures already, and it’s just Wednesday!!
