Robin and I both didn’t sleep well last night, but we managed to get up and out at 5:45am. I had managed to set my new cell phone alarm as a back-up to my regular alarm clock. Both went off without a hitch! Robin was already up, packing and having a fast breakfast, and I slept until about 5:40am, put on pants (keeping my pajama top on) and a jacket, and drove her to the airport. I helped her get her stuff out of the car, we said our goodbyes, I got back in, drove home, and got back in bed.
I watched a little TV, thinking I wouldn’t be able to fall back to sleep so fast, but my eyes were closing, so I shut off the TV and slept. The phone rang at 10:00am. It was Eric, but I told him I had to keep sleeping.
The phone rang again at 1:50pm and it was my friend Diane calling from NY. I can’t believe I slept ALL DAY! I knew I was tired, and that we both hadn’t slept well, but I never expected to sleep another seven hours!
When I got off the phone with Diane I called Eric, but got his voicemail. He had told me he was going to go out riding, so I figured he must still be out on his bicycle.
Then, I started up the computer and had a bowl of Special K. I was starving and what I REALLY wanted was to have my leftover risotto and one of Robin’s heart-shaped lobster ravioli from last night, but I resisted! At least I knew I’d have an easy and delicious dinner!
All I did ALL day was eat and watch TV! I finally spoke to Eric. He was out on his bicycle and had a great ride. He’s off tomorrow for President’s Day, which makes me very happy. A three-day weekend is always great, and then a four-day workweek makes it even better!
I watched CONFESSIONS OF A TEEN IDOL, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, THE GHOST WHISPERER, DR. PHIL, two episodes of HEROES and PSYCH. I had a LOT of catching up to do, because Robin and I watched very little TV this past week and I had all my shows recorded!
I did end up eating my leftovers (and Robin's, too). YUM! I also finished off the rest of the gelato I brought home after yoga the other night. I am quite sure I've gained at least a few pounds this past week, having so much fun with Robin, but I haven't had the guts to weigh myself!
Tomorrow I’m supposed to go bowling with Tifney and her son Josh in the afternoon. I need to do a few loads of laundry, too, to get all the linens washed after my guest’s visit. At least I don’t need to do a food shopping. There’s still so much food left from our last shopping. We bought so much food. We really did eat home a lot, which was great, because it probably saved us a fortune.
I had such a great week with Robin. She’s really good company, and is so funny and easy-going, too. We have a lot of the same habits. She loves to nap, and is perfectly happy to stay home and watch TV or read, if she’s tired or under the weather.
Even though she wasn’t feeling well all week, due to her sinuses, and I wasn’t feeling great, due to my allergies, we rallied and still had a great time and so many wonderful adventures. It is a week I will never forget and I feel so lucky that she chose to come here to spend her vacation with me!
