Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Top ‘o the mornin’ to ya!  Hope you all had a fun and festive St. Patrick’s Day!  I completely forgot it even WAS St. Patrick’s Day until I was driving to yoga at 6:30pm!

I spent the entire day in the apartment – packing, packing, packing.  I now have most of my clothes, shoes and purses packed and the only stuff left is what I wear all the time and will be packing in the suitcases to take back with me.

Here's a picture of my new suitcase.  Interesting pattern, eh?  I figure it will be easy to spot on the carousel at JFK!

I woke up right before the alarm again – 8:58am this time.  I actually went to bed a little earlier last night, too (midnight), so I got around 9 hours of sleep.  That’s a lot!

I haven’t been weighing myself every day for a while – especially since the numbers kept going up and up, but I weighed myself this morning and I actually lost a pound!  I guess it’s because I’ve been doing a lot around the apartment.  I’m looking forward to more of THAT!  I hope to lose a few pounds before I go back to NY, because right now I’m what I like to call a “fattie boombalattie,” which means that a lot of my clothes don’t fit and I hate looking at myself naked in the mirror!

I took a nap in the afternoon, but didn’t sleep much because The Little Drummer Boy was playing outside and he’s SO loud.  It was still nice to relax and feel the breeze blow through the window.
When I got to yoga I found out that my instructor had just gotten back from India, but still wasn’t teaching, so I didn’t miss her last week!  This week there was a lovely young man teaching and I had to sit next to him, because there were over 20 people in the class and it was SO crowded.  I was late (which is very unusual for me – I’m usually one of the first), so he made room next to him.  It was such a great class and I felt sooooooooooooo serene when I got home from Serenity Yoga!

I made a bowl of my shrimp wonton soup, which is SO easy and delicious!  It comes in a black bowl with a lid.  You just add water and microwave for 4 minutes!  SO yummy – and economical, too!

I watched THE BIGGEST LOSER.  I can only DVR 2 shows at a time, and you can’t watch a third, so I couldn’t record AMERICAN IDOL.  The truth is, they show a clip from tonight’s performance tomorrow night, at the elimination, and I’m not that into country and tonight was country music, so I figured I’d watch TBL and DWTS instead.  Why do they put THREE of my shows on at the same time on the same night?  Why, oh why?

Tomorrow, I will pack my last wardrobe (I have 5 all together) and then I’ll start on my regular boxes.  I have about 10 copy paper boxes, with lids that sit on top.  I also have about a dozen file boxes with the lids that flip open.  Those are great for packing up my desk, the unbreakables in the kitchen, the bathroom, and miscellaneous stuff.  I still need to get a few big boxes for larger-sized items, like my life-size dress form (it’s not a mannequin), and our two wooden breakfast trays (we like to eat in bed a lot!).

I think I’ll go to KEIL’S tomorrow and ask around for some big over-sized boxes.  Maybe I can try RITE-AID, too!  I gotta tell you, I’m really enjoying the packing.  It feels good to get things done, and see progress and I’ve always been organized, so it’s going pretty smoothly.  So far, so good!  Just 24 days left!
