It’s true! I never even got dressed yesterday. My allergies were bothering me so much last night that I took two NYQUILs when I went to sleep. I slept really well, through the night, and after I woke up at 9:00am to call Eric I went back to sleep and didn’t wake up until after 11:00am! I felt kind of groggy, but as I started to work around the apartment, it wore off.
It was much cooler today, overcast, and a really nice breeze was blowing through the open door and windows. I got a LOT done – packing until I had no more packing tape! I’ll have to go back to STAPLES tomorrow to get me some more!
In the meantime, since I had no more packing tape, I started organizing the spare bedroom. I moved around the boxes that have been sitting there since the day we moved in (they contain chandeliers, mannequins, lamps, and tons of knick-knacks I haven’t touched since I got here!).
On one side of the room I have all the stuff I’m taking to the garage sale next weekend, and I got that a little more organized, too. I was watching a marathon of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL all day, and I was thrilled to realize there were actually a few episodes in this cycle that I had never seen. I really love that show. I love seeing a girl transformed by make-up and creating art with her body. At the same time, it’s also interesting to see the most beautiful girl you can imagine take terrible pictures.
There’s really an art to it. You can’t just be beautiful and create great photos. It’s not the photographer’s fault – or expertise – either. It’s really all about the model. She has to give the photographer something to work with. It seems like such a glamorous career, but when you see how they have to do a shoot right after a long plane ride, or pose in the ocean when the water is 50 degrees, it doesn’t seem quite as glamorous. It’s hard work, and if they’re paid $10,000 for the day, they very often deserve it!
I didn’t take a nap, so at about 9:00am I was exhausted and my eyes were closing. I decided to go to sleep and hope for the best. Well, the best I could do at that hour was three hours. I was up at midnight and there was nothin’ I could do about it! I worked on the computer and watched more TV and fell back to sleep around 3:00am. I tell you, this sleep cycle thing has got to right itself when I get back to NY, or I’ll be driving Eric crazy!
